Craigellachie 1987 Bot.2002 Connoisseurs Choice is a 15-year-old Scotch whisky from the Speyside region. Craigellachie distillery is known for its rich and robust style, often characterized by a distinctive character that sets it apart from other Speyside whiskies. This expression was bottled in 2002 as part of the Connoisseurs Choice range.
Rich and fruity with notes of ripe apples, pears, and a hint of honey, complemented by a subtle floral character and a touch of oak.
Full-bodied with a creamy texture, featuring flavors of baked apples, vanilla, and a slight spiciness, along with a hint of malt.
Long and warming with lingering notes of fruit and a gentle oak influence.
A well-balanced and complex whisky that showcases the fruity character typical of Craigellachie, with a smooth and satisfying profile.

The Speyside region's rock, Craigellachie, is everything not your average 'Speyside' whiskey. Its fruity, muscular flavor, which was considered out of date even in 1891, is due to the employment of worm tub condensers. This robust but fragrant flavour goes against what is expected. Many distilleries in the earlier days of whiskey manufacturing used worm tubs to chill their alcohol. We continue to use this conventional method of returning our vapour to liquid form after distillation. We discover that the worm tubs give the spirit an added flavor, aiding in the development of our unique personality.
