Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky produced in Speyside, Scotland by the Craigellachie Distillery. The whisky is produced using traditional methods, including malted barley that is kiln-dried using peat smoke. The barley is then mashed with water sourced from the spring of the nearby hill, Ben Rinnes. The resulting wort is fermented using the distillery's own unique strain of yeast, which contributes to the whisky's distinctive flavor profile. The whisky is distilled twice in copper pot stills, which are relatively small in size and shape, allowing for greater copper contact and resulting in a richer, fuller flavor. Finally, the whisky is aged in a combination of American oak and ex-bourbon barrels for a minimum of 13 years, which adds complexity and depth to the final product.
Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a delightful single malt scotch whisky that can be enjoyed neat or with a splash of water. The distillery recommends serving it in a tulip-shaped glass, which enhances the aroma and flavor. The whisky's rich and complex flavor profile makes it an ideal pairing with a variety of foods, including smoked salmon, mature cheeses, and chocolate desserts. The Craigellachie 13 Year Old can also be used as a base for cocktails, adding depth and complexity to classic whisky-based drinks like the Old Fashioned or Manhattan.

The Speyside region's rock, Craigellachie, is everything not your average 'Speyside' whiskey. Its fruity, muscular flavor, which was considered out of date even in 1891, is due to the employment of worm tub condensers. This robust but fragrant flavour goes against what is expected. Many distilleries in the earlier days of whiskey manufacturing used worm tubs to chill their alcohol. We continue to use this conventional method of returning our vapour to liquid form after distillation. We discover that the worm tubs give the spirit an added flavor, aiding in the development of our unique personality.
