A 1996 Ben Nevis single malt, matured in a single ex-sherry butt for more than two decades, before being bottled by Elixir Distillers in July 2019, as part of its Single Malts of Scotland range. Sweet aromas of runny honey, vanilla-scented candles, over-ripe mango and cantaloupe melon fill the nose, and the palate offers luscious notes of chargrilled pineapple, lemon oil, dates, cranberries and apricots, with lashings of cinnamon and mint.~ The Whisky Exchange

In Scotland's Fort William, there is a distillery called Ben Nevis. At 1,345 meters (4,413 feet) above sea level, Ben Nevis is the tallest peak in the British Isles, and it is located at its foot. A coastal distillery in the Western Highlands gets its water from the Allt a'Mhuilinn, which springs from the Coire Leis and Coire na'Ciste lakes on Ben Nevis. It was established in 1825 as an independent business, and since 1989, Nikka Whisky Distilling of Tokyo, Japan, has owned it.
