This is the Lagavulin Distillery's 2019 Fèis le release. Iain McArthur, a warehouseman at the distillery, carefully chose American oak barrels to age this 19 Year Old. It was cask-strength bottled after over 20 years of age, with just 6,000 bottles being made available at 53.8% ABV. At the Islay distillery's open day on May 25, 2019, it was first only offered for sale there.

One of Islay's oldest distilleries, Lagavulin is known around the world for its smokey, peaty whiskies. A malt whiskey distillery called Lagavulin is located in the Scottish hamlet of Lagavulin on the southern tip of the island of Islay. It produces the spirit used to make Islay single malt Scotch whisky. Diageo, a global provider of alcoholic beverages with its headquarters in London, is the owner of Lagavulin. It was once advertised under the no longer in existence Classic Malts line of single malts. The typical release is a 16-year-old with a 43% ABV. Additionally, a Distiller's edition that was aged in Pedro Ximénez Sherry barrels is bottled. A 12-year-old cask-strength variant and numerous older and rarer expressions are also routinely released in addition to these. The name Lagavulin is a translation from the Scottish Gaelic means hollow of the mill, Lag a' Mhuilinn.
