Lagavulin 16 Year Distillers Edition 2023 Whisky is a Scotch whisky from the Islay region, known for its rich, peaty character. This expression is aged for 16 years, showcasing the distillery's commitment to quality and tradition. Lagavulin is renowned for its heavily peated style, making it a distinctive choice among Islay whiskies.
Rich and smoky with notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, and a hint of seaweed.
Full-bodied with flavors of peat smoke, sherry sweetness, and a touch of spice, complemented by notes of figs and raisins.
Long and warming with lingering smoke, a hint of salt, and a sweet, malty aftertaste.
A complex and well-balanced expression that showcases the signature Lagavulin character with added depth from the sherry cask influence.

One of Islay's oldest distilleries, Lagavulin is known around the world for its smokey, peaty whiskies. A malt whiskey distillery called Lagavulin is located in the Scottish hamlet of Lagavulin on the southern tip of the island of Islay. It produces the spirit used to make Islay single malt Scotch whisky. Diageo, a global provider of alcoholic beverages with its headquarters in London, is the owner of Lagavulin. It was once advertised under the no longer in existence Classic Malts line of single malts. The typical release is a 16-year-old with a 43% ABV. Additionally, a Distiller's edition that was aged in Pedro Ximénez Sherry barrels is bottled. A 12-year-old cask-strength variant and numerous older and rarer expressions are also routinely released in addition to these. The name Lagavulin is a translation from the Scottish Gaelic means hollow of the mill, Lag a' Mhuilinn.
