About Connemara

On the Cooley Peninsula in County Louth, Ireland, lies the Cooley Distillery, a distillery for Irish whiskey. Entrepreneur John Teeling renovated the distillery from an earlier potato alcohol facility in 1987. The Cooley distillery is presently owned by Beam Suntory after Suntory acquired Beam in 2014; Beam Inc. announced plans to acquire it on December 16, 2011, for around US$95 million (€71 million). Connemara is the only Irish Peated Single Malt Whiskey that is now readily accessible, making it unique among Irish whiskeys. Connemara® has a distinctive peaty flavor and aroma, imparting a delicate smokiness and smooth, sweet taste that are inspired by the practice of drying malting barley over peat fires in the 18th century. It is a very distinctive Irish whiskey because to its deep peat flavors and silky, sweet malt flavor. Connemara® Irish whiskey has won more than 20 medals in prestigious spirits events since 2012. a smell of well-baked apple crumble, kippers, and sweet barley mixed with hints of peaty smoke. Contains flavors of mildly honey-sweet, clean smoke that isn't overpoweringly sooty, peaty vegetal notes, sweet barley water, mild spice, and vanilla oak.
