Ledaig 1993 30 Year Old Cask #706 Connoisseurs Choice is a Scotch whisky from the Isle of Mull, known for its rich and complex flavor profile. With an age statement of 30 years and an ABV of 57.2%, this whisky reflects the distillery's commitment to producing high-quality, aged spirits. Ledaig is recognized for its peated style, which adds depth to its character.
Rich and complex with notes of peat smoke, maritime brine, and hints of dried fruits such as apricot and fig, complemented by a subtle sweetness from aged oak.
Full-bodied with a robust profile showcasing smoky flavors intertwined with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a touch of spice, balanced by a creamy mouthfeel.
Long and warming with lingering smoke, a hint of saltiness, and a sweet, fruity aftertaste that fades slowly.
An exceptional expression that beautifully marries the boldness of Ledaig's peaty character with the elegance of its age, making it a remarkable choice for whisky enthusiasts.

Unpeated malted barley is used to create the Tobermory Single Malt, which is then aged for at least 10 years in oak barrels. In tiny amounts, a strongly peated whiskey called Ledaig—the name of the original distillery—is also produced. Several mixes, like as Scottish Leader and Black Bottle, include the malts. A private lake next to the Mishnish lochs provides water for the distillery. Prior proprietors had used the Tobermory moniker for both a single malt and a blended whiskey, confusing the branding. The distillery's capacity was increased in 1990, enabling it to produce a million liters of spirit annually. It employs four Oregon pine washbacks, a classic copper-domed cast iron mash tun, and four spirit stills. The whisky is aged in barrels that previously held sherry and bourbon whiskey. At the Deanston distillery, maturation takes place.
