Product Description

Glenglassaugh distillery, situated at Sandend Bay in the Scottish Highlands, was founded in 1875. The Distillery was completely re-built in 1960 and operated until 1986 whit it was mothballed for 20 years until it was purchased by a group of investors and started production again in December 2008. In 2013, the BenRiach Distillery Company took over Glenglassaugh distillery with the intention to bring this iconic distillery fully back to life, using traditional distilling methods. Cask Number: #65 Cask Type: Finished in first fill Oloroso Hogshead cask Bottles: 253 Colour: Pecan Nose: Rich, warm and well rounded aromas. A bouquet of dried dark fruit, root spices and toasted walnut. Palate: Warming and surprisingly sweet, dark mocha tones intertwined with Demerara sugar are subtle. Sun dried raisins and yellow sultana cake. A touch of golden tobacco. Finish: Mouth coating with gently caressing red spices.
