Buffalo Trace White Dog Mash #1 is a type of unaged whiskey, also known as "white dog" or "moonshine," produced by the Buffalo Trace Distillery. It is made from a mash bill (or recipe) of corn, rye, and malted barley, and is distilled to a high proof. Unlike aged whiskey, which is aged in oak barrels for several years, white dog is bottled immediately after distillation, resulting in a clear liquid with a strong, grain-forward flavor. Buffalo Trace White Dog Mash #1 is bottled at a high proof, typically around 130 proof, which is 65% alcohol by volume. It can be consumed straight or used as a mixer in cocktails. It is considered to be one of the most unique product of the distillery and it will give you a real taste of the whiskey making process.
