Since 2005, the Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County, Taiwan, has been a leader in the single malt whiskey industry. Kavalan is made from the mineral-rich meltwaters of Snow Mountain and matured in a special environment that combines extreme heat, humidity, sea breezes, and mountain breezes. All of these factors work together to give Kavalan its distinctive quality, smoothness, and fruity flavor. Yilan County is now known as Kavalan.
