Product Description

A remarkable addition to the Glenfarclas range, this 40yo has been simply-packaged in line with the rest of the standard bottlings from the distillery, and has been bottled at the perfect drinking strength of 46%. A 40yo sherried Speyside designed for drinking rather than sitting on a mantlepiece or in a display cabinet - bravo. Awarded a very well-merited Gold Medal at the Malt Maniacs Awards 2010.

About The Brand: Glenfarclas

In Ballindalloch, Scotland, there is a Speyside whiskey distillery called Glenfarclas. Glenfarclas, which means valley of the green grass, is a Scottish name. The Grant family owns and operates the distillery. Six stills, the biggest on Speyside and located in the distillery, are heated directly by gas burners. About 4 million liters of spirit may be produced at the distillery each year. Two stills are often held in reserve while the other two are used for production. Approximately 68,000 barrels from every year since 1953 up to the present are now ageing at the distillery in on-site dunnage warehouses. Traditional Highland malt with a strong sherry flavor is produced by Glenfarclas.
