Cragganmore 12 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky produced in the Speyside region of Scotland. The production process begins with the malted barley being dried over a peat fire. The malt is then ground into grist, mixed with water, and heated to create a sugary liquid called wort. Yeast is added to the wort, which then ferments in large wooden washbacks for around 55 hours, creating a beer-like liquid called wash. The wash is then distilled twice in copper pot stills to produce the spirit, which is then aged in oak casks for a minimum of 12 years. The casks are carefully selected to ensure that the whisky has the desired flavor profile and character. The result is a smooth and complex whisky with notes of honey, malt, and fruit.
Cragganmore 12 Year Old is a versatile whisky that can be enjoyed in many ways. It can be served neat or on the rocks, depending on personal preference. The complex flavors of this single malt make it a great choice for sipping slowly, perhaps alongside a good book or a fine cigar. It also pairs well with cheese, chocolate, and other rich desserts. For those who prefer mixed drinks, Cragganmore 12 Year Old can be used to make classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned or Manhattan, adding a touch of smokiness to the drink. Whatever the occasion, Cragganmore 12 Year Old is a classic Scotch whisky that is sure to impress.

The Scotch whiskey distillery Cragganmore is located in the Scottish settlement of Ballindalloch in the Banffshire region. John Smith established the distillery in 1869 on property he leased from Sir George Macpherson-Grant. Smith choose the location because it was adjacent to the Strathspey Railway as well as the waters of the Craggan burn. Smith was an experienced distiller who had previously served as the manager of the Wishaw, Macallan, Glenlivet, and Glenlivet distilleries. The Speyside Way long-distance walking path is built along the abandoned Strathspey Railway. United Distillers marketed Cragganmore under the Classic Malts name. Since then, United Distillers has joined Diageo.
