Product Description

This single cask expression from independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. was distilled in June 2007 at Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. Crafted with the distillery's peated malt barley (known as Ledaig in official bottlings from the distillery), this expression has been matured for 12 years in a single refill butt. Bottled at a preferred strength of 50% abv in September 2019, only 282 bottles have been produced. The nose has rich peat with sea salt a a pinch of pepper. The palate brings thick peat smoke with lighter notes of lemon, pear and freshly cut grass, before a long and smoky finish.~ Master of Malt

About The Brand: Tobermory

A Scotch whiskey distillery called Tobermory is located in the town of Tobermory on the Hebridean island of Mull in Scotland. The 1798-founded distillery, once called as Ledaig (pronounced Letch-ick), has changed hands several times and through a series of closures. Burn Stewart Distillers, a branch of the South African Distell Group Limited, presently owns Mull's sole distillery. The mixes Scottish Leader and Black Bottle contain Tobermory single malt, which is the company's primary offering. Additionally, though in lower quantities, the distillery creates peated whiskey, which continues to go by the name Ledaig.
