This single cask expression is part of the Old Malt Cask series from independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. Distilled in December 2010 at Talisker on the Isle of Skye, this expression was matured for eight years in a refill sherry butt before bottling in April 2019. Just 474 bottles have been produced, each one at a preferred strength of 50% abv. The nose has sweet vanilla, honey and chocolate. The palate is just as sweet with rhubarb and berries alongside a hint of pepper. The finish is long and sweet with a touch of smoke and oak.~ Master of Malt

On the Minginish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye, Talisker Distillery is an island single malt Scotch whiskey distillery with headquarters in Carbost, Scotland. Diageo, which runs the distillery, has shortlisted Taliskers' 10-year-old whiskey for inclusion in their Classic Malts lineup. The product is regarded as a high-end single malt Whisky. Hugh MacAskill financed £3,000 and constructed the distillery before leasing the land from the MacLeods in 1830. Instead of the settlement where it was located, he decided to name it after his estate, Talisker, which is located about 5 miles to the west.
