Talisker Port Ruighe is a single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. It was first launched in 2013 and is a non-age-statement expression. The Port Ruighe expression is made using malted barley that has been dried with a mixture of peat and heather, then it is aged in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in casks that previously held Port wine. This gives the whisky a subtle sweetness and a more complex and fruity flavor profile, that is different from Talisker's usual smoky and maritime character. Diageo, which runs the distillery, has shortlisted Taliskers' 10-year-old whiskey for inclusion in their Classic Malts lineup. The product is regarded as a high-end single malt Whisky. Hugh MacAskill financed £3,000 and constructed the distillery before leasing the land from the MacLeods in 1830.
