A 19 Year Old single malt from the Isle of Jura, produced in honour of George Orwell's iconic novel, 1984, which he wrote while staying on the island. Very appropriately, it was distilled in the year 1984, and saw a finish in Palo Cortado Oloroso sherry casks before it was bottled in 2003, with an outturn of 4,800 bottles. Of course you don't have to have a peruse of the novel itself while sipping this one, but it would seem rather fitting. Please Note: Slightly scuffed on the front of the bottle. This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!~ Master of Malt

On the island of Jura in the Inner Hebrides off the coast of Scotland, the Jura distillery produces Scotch whiskey. Whyte and Mackay, a company located in Glasgow, is the owner of the distillery. Whyte and Mackay is owned by Emperador Inc., a company based in the Philippines. The distillery was founded in 1810 and revived in 1963 to revitalize the island and the neighborhood. What a success it has been as well. Today, practically every family on the island has a member who is employed by our distillery, a company associated with our distillery, or a tourism company that promotes whiskey. You can sense the producers' devotion in every sip because Jura is more important to them than anything else.
