Springbank 10 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky that is known for its traditional production methods. The distillery uses locally sourced barley, which is malted on site using traditional floor malting techniques. The malted barley is then mashed and fermented with a proprietary yeast strain, before being double distilled in copper pot stills. One unique aspect of Springbank's production process is that they use lightly peated barley, which contributes a subtle smokiness to the whisky. The whisky is then aged for a minimum of 10 years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, which adds depth and complexity to the final product. This time-honored production method results in a whisky that is rich, full-bodied, and full of character.
Springbank 10 Year Old is a whisky that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. It is suggested to try it neat, as the flavors can be savored in their purest form. Adding a splash of water can also help to open up the aromas and flavors. For those who prefer a lighter taste, serving it on the rocks or with a mixer such as soda or ginger ale can be a refreshing option. This whisky pairs well with hearty dishes such as steak and potatoes, as well as seafood like smoked salmon or grilled scallops. Experimenting with different serving options can help you discover your own favorite way to enjoy Springbank 10 Year Old.

On the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland, there is a family-run single malt whiskey distillery called Springbank. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, the same company that controls the Glengyle distillery, William Cadenheads, the oldest independent bottler, and a number of blended scotch brands. One of the remaining single malt whisky makers still operating in Campbeltown, which formerly had over thirty operational distilleries, is Springbank, which received its license in 1828. Three different kinds of peated and unpeated malt whiskey are produced by the distillery and bottled. A sizable portion of its distillate is sold to bigger blenders or used to make one of J&A Mitchell's own blended scotch brands, such Campbeltown Loch, while the remainder is bottled as single malt.
