Product Description

The Launceston distillery is housed in the oldest remaining aviation structure in Tasmania, Hangar 17, which was constructed in 1932. Repurposed as a distillery, the location is outfitted with stills constructed in Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, and covered in Tasmanian oak to preserve heat. This single malt was bottled at cask strength after spending five years aging in a bourbon barrel. Although we're not sure Launceston goes quite as far as employing Tasmanian devils, as the label on this bottle from That Boutique-y Whisky Company would have us think, it's fair to say Launceston has a distinct focus on local products and people. A release of 187 bottles makes up Batch 1.
