Mackmyra Whisky is a Swedish single malt whisky distillery. It currently has 4 whiskies in its core range and in addition it has a seasonal range as well as its Moment Collection - a series of whiskies from handpicked casks selected by the master blender Angela D'Ozario.
This new release is called Destination and is a limited release.

Mackmyra Destination is a single malt whisky aged in port wine casks, American oak casks, and ex-bourbon casks. The port casks add color and sweet notes of wine while American oak casks add more subtle notes of vanilla; lastly ex-bourbon casks add balance and harmony. The combination results in a full and complex whisky that is packed with flavor and balance.
The release will be available as of the 28th September 2022. It should have an RRP of around £69.

A bit about Mackmyra Distillery
Mackmyra was conceived in 1998 as an idea to produce a Swedish whisky. One year later, in 1999, Mackmyra Svensk Whisky was established. At the start they used local barley, spring water and Swedish oak. Since then they have expanded and experimented with different cask types. Mackmyra even has a smoky recipe which is smoked by hand using locally cut peat together with juniper twigs. Mackmyra has won several awards at international spirit competitions. For example Mackmyra Brukswhisky was named "European Whisky of the Year" by Jim Murray in the Whisky Bible, and was awarded gold by The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2010.
