The days are getting cooler, and shorter. Summer is winding down, and leaves start to change colors and fall off their trees. It is the time of the harvest. This Harvest Series Collection by the Cotswolds Distillery celebrates the harvest being brought home.
Along with the announcement of the new collection the Cotswolds Distillery has released the first whisky in the collection, the limited edition Golden Wold Single Malt Whisky. This whisky is a blend of select ex-Bourbon, STR red wine and Peated casks.
Golden Wold Single Malt Whisky
- Bottled at 52.5% ABV
- Not Chill-Filtered
- Natural colouring
- Master Whiskymaker: Nick Franchino
This is the first release in the Harvest Series and is a blend of select ex-Bourbon, STR red wine and Peated casks using only 100% locally grown barley. Its flavor profile is a smooth and mellow blend which aims to bring together the beautiful Cotswolds landscape and highlights the rich and fruity character.
What is a Wold (no it's not a typo). The meaning of WOLD is a usually upland area of open country. One of the goals of the Harvest Series is to celebrate the beautiful landscape of the Cotswolds through painting and whisky blending. This monumental release embodies this goal with its presentation tube which features an original painting by local artist Josephine Trotter that perfectly illustrates the iconic rolling hills of the Cotswolds which surround the rural distillery.
Josephine Trotter was chosen for her ability and her impressionistic approach to making Cotswolds landscapes come alive - which is exactly what the goal of this new range is.
The Golden Wold Single Malt Whisky is available now on the Cotswolds Distillery website with an RRP of £99.95 and it is a limited release of 5,000 bottles.
