Six award-winning, single malt scotches from top distilleries have been announced.
The Diageo Distillers Edition Collection is a range of single malt whiskies produced by Diageo, a British multinational alcoholic beverages company. The collection includes expressions from six different distilleries, each of which has been aged for an extended period of time and then finished in a special cask to impart unique flavors and aromas.
This year’s Distillers Edition collection consists of six releases from Scotch distilleries throughout the Islands, Speyside, the Highlands and the Lowlands: Lagavulin, Talisker, Cragganmore, Oban, Dalwhinnie and Glenkinchie.
Since 1997, The Distillers Edition has been released yearly. These whiskies undergo a second maturing in batches utilizing specifically produced barrels that previously contained a carefully chosen fortified wine. Each batch matures over several months.
