German for sponge is schwam. As Edition number 73A is single malt whiskey from Destillerie Ralf Hauer under the Saillt Mór label, this continental addition to the Whisky Sponge line from Decadent Drinks has obviously been given a German makeover. The peated whiskey in question was made in 2014 and aged in a first-fill bourbon barrel until 2022, when it was finally bottled. A robust 57.1% ABV and just 230 bottles of this smokey, savory whiskey were made.
